Denmark's oil exploration at a total standstill

Not a single exploratory drilling has taken place this year in the Danish North Sea shelf, and there is no promise of any in 2017. Struggling oil companies and one delayed bidding round are the reason, says the Danish state oil and gas company Nordsøfonden.

MEPs hesitate on free electricity market in Europe

Today, the EU Parliament's energy committee will vote on its negotiation position regarding several pieces of important energy legislation. But similar to member nations, the MEPs are struggling to agree on whether to let power flow freely in all of Europe in a full-on inner energy market.

German wind prices rise by one fifth

After dramatic price decreases and major criticism of German onshore wind auctions, the average price saw a significant boost in the first auction since the provisional tightening of the rules for citizen projects. Solar power is thus cheaper than wind.
