Old drillings emit tons of methane in the North Sea

Somewhere between 3,000 and 17,000 tons of methane gas leak every year from abandoned wells in the North Sea, according to a new study. Large volumes escape into the atmosphere.

German wind prices rise by one fifth

After dramatic price declines and major criticism of German onshore wind auctions, the average price saw a significant boost in the first auction since the provisional tightening of the rules for citizen projects. Solar power is thus cheaper than wind.
