Shell considering Eneco acquisition

The oil giant and a pension fund are exploring possibilities to buy green utility Eneco.

Shell and pension fund PGGM have thrown their hats into the ring to buy Dutch utility Eneco.

Eneco is currently owned by 53 Dutch municipalities but the company has long worked towards privatization. Shortly before Christmas, Eneco announced that the privatization would take place via a controlled auction.
