Innogy maintains optimism after rough first quarter

The British market cost Innogy a pretty penny in this year's first quarter where revenue and earnings for the whole company suffered a setback. However, the firm believes in growth for the full year and that efficiency measures can offset the downturn in the UK.

RWE's listed subsidiary in renewables saw both revenue and earnings take a hit in the first three months of the year.

External revenue dropped from EUR 13.2 billion to EUR 12.3 billion. A decline of 6.7 percent and the result plunged even more significantly.
