Q1 operating result slashed in half at Dong

The Danish energy major delivers a top line similar to last year's first quarter but has to enter 2017 with a lower result. CEO Henrik Poulsen calls the result "a good start to 2017."

Dong Energy booked DKK 1.6 billion (EUR 215 million) on the bottom line for the first three months of the year. For the same period last year, the result came to DKK 5.4 billion, shows the interim report which has just been released.

The bottom line is generated on revenue, virtually the same as last year, of DKK 17 billion. EBITDA was slashed in half from DKK 7.6 billion down to DKK 3.8 billion.
