Green profile will drive Vattenfall's growth

The Swedish energy giant has no plans to bring coal to a complete halt like its fellow market player Dong Energy. But the company says it will focus on becoming increasingly green.

The race to produce the most green energy has long being fierce among European energy companies. Most recently, Danish player Dong Energy announced it would be completely done with coal by 2023. Prior to that, Austria's largest energy company, Verbund, announced in 2014 that it would move away from coal. Meanwhile, French President Francois Hollande promised last year that France would close the country's last coal-fired plant in November.
