Energy shopping is the new trend

Close to 30 percent more of the British population takes the time to investigate which electricity or gas company best suits their needs and then switches supplier.

Working to find the best solution in energy companies has become a popular trend in the UK. The number of British households which switch electricity or gas companies, has risen by almost 30 percent in just one year, writes British Ofgem (Office of Electricity and Gas Markets), which handles data collection about the energy industry.

In 2016, 7.7 million British households switched electricity or gas companies. This is the highest level since 2010.
