Dong roars ahead after IPO

After only six months as a listed company, the Danish utility lands its first positive bottom line in four years. As expected, the wind division was the driving force behind a profit of more than DKK 10 billion.

After Danish Dong Energy's first year as a listed company, the financial result landed at DKK 10.4 billion (EUR 1.4 billion), according to the just-released annual report from the company.

Last year, the result for the entire business came to a deficit of DKK 12 billion (IFRS). You have to go all the way back to 2011 to find the last time that the Dong Energy group made a profit.

GE implements 3D printing for making component molds

Developing the world's largest 3D printer will enable the OEM to make molds for nacelle components of up to 9.5 meters in diameter and weighing more than 60 tonnes by means of additive manufacturing. Initial testing is set to begin in early 2022.
