Danish energy players face uncertainty from hard Brexit

The UK will not attempt to remain within the single market when it resigns from its EU membership. This will likely strike Danish companies in the energy sector.

Now that the UK has finally declared that it is on track for a 'hard Brexit', Danish energy companies could face major consequences. This is according to sources speaking to EnergyWatch, after British Prime Minister Theresa May laid out plans for the UK exit from the EU in a Tuesday speech.

The conservative PM announced that the UK is prepared to pull out of the EU single market and signalled that she is willing to drag the UK through a 'Hard Brexit' should it fail to reach a reasonable exit deal with the EU. Now, the potential threat to trade and investments in the energy sector has increased.
