The steadfast defenders of special regulation can anticipate a busy summer.
Despite a previously announced deadline in May, the new model for countertrading, the successor to special regulation, was only submitted for a hearing earlier this week. Over the past year, the new model has been the subject of criticism from the electricity sector and particularly Danish wind turbine owners for being unnecessary, and at worst for pulling the rug from under the development of zero-subsidy wind farms in the near future.
