Statkraft signs PPA with Deutsche Bahn

Statkraft and Deutsche Bahn have signed a one-year power purchase agreement. Since Jan. 1, Statkraft has provided green power from German onshore wind farms, whose subsidy from the German Renewable Energy Sources Act has expired.

Norwegian state-owned utility Statkraft is going to sell electricity to German transport, specifically the national railroad operator Deutsche Bahn.

The contract covers expected generation of nearly 4,000 GWh and "ensures the economic continued operation of the plants".
