EDF surges on rumors of atomic power price deal

France and the EU are reportedly close to reaching agreement on a deal pertaining to nuclear energy regulation, sending EDF rising on the stock exchange.


French utility EDF surges 6.7 percent upon rumors that France and the EU are nearing agreement on an atomic power regulation deal, writes Bloomberg News.

French newspaper Les Echos reported Thursday evening CET that EDF could benefit from a regulated price on its entire French nuclear power generation in the coming years.
