Vattenfall to sell Berlin's power grid

After Vattenfall last year lost the rights to operate Berlin's power grid, the Swedish utility has offered the state of Berlin a takeover of Stromnetz Berlin, which has operated the city's grid for the past 20 years.

Swedish utility Vattenfall has decided lay down its arms in Berlin.

Last year, the right to operate Berlin's electric grid was handed to municipal utility Berlin Energie, after Vattenfall had run the network via distribution system operator Stromnetz Berlin for the past 20 years.
