Energy major to guarantee customers 100 percent renewable electricity

Germany's Eon will offer its more than 3.3 million UK customers electricity from renewable energy sources such as wind, biomass and solar power at no extra cost.

German utility Eon's UK subsidiary will now supply and guarantee its nearly 3.3 million UK customers with energy from renewable sources by default and at no extra cost.

Eon is among the six biggest suppliers of electricity in the UK, and the company aims to supply the green electricity from its wind farms, biomass plants and solar projects, writes The Guardian.
