ABB's chief executive steps down following Q1 result

Swiss-Swedish industrial conglomerate ABB's CEO is stepping down, chairman of the board Peter Voser has been appointed interim CEO.

Following its financial report for the first quarter of this year, industrial conglomerate ABB, the result of a merger between Swedish ASEA and Swiss Brown, Boveri & Cie, is saying farewell to its CEO, Ulrich Spiesshofer.

The resignation is a mutually agreed upon decision, informs the company. Chairman of the Board Peter Voser will take over the position as interim CEO until a permanent successor to Spiesshofer has been found.
