Danish, Norwegian and European authorities have all approved Equinor's purchase of energy trader Danske Commodities, thereby putting a seal on one of the largest financial commodity trader acquisitions in the European energy sector.
Danske Commodities, one of this last decade's greatest Danish energy sector success stories, announced last summer that Norwegian player Equinor was seeking to buy the company in a transaction worth EUR 400 million – a transaction that was only pending approval from authorities and which is now complete.
