UK risks losing yet another nuclear power plant

Japanese Hitachi is close to dropping its plans for building a new nuclear power plant in Wales, potentially leaving the British energy strategy in a state of near chaos, reports Financial Times citing sources near to the process. The decision will be taken at the company's board meeting this week.

This development is reportedly based on a lack of firm commitments from other financial investors, and Hitachi does not want to continue pouring capital into the project, which goes by the name of Horizon.
