Ørsted CEO: Several criteria must be met to secure a responsible buyer

"Over time, the business will become, and mean, less and less in relative terms as we invest more in expanding green production. Therefore, we believe that it is better to see whether there are better owners for this part," says Henrik Poulsen, CEO of Ørsted.

A review of the business has prompted Danish utility Ørsted to put its distribution and private customer divisions up for sale in Denmark, as these business areas will gradually mean less and less to the energy group.

This is because they cannot be used to push green energy produced by Ørsted, chiefly via the offshore wind farms owned by the utility.
