Ørsted chairman: We will retain our sought-after CEO with new challenges

The most obvious candidate to someday take the reins of Ørsted has stepped down, and Henrik Poulsen is highly sought after by headhunters. Chairman Thomas Thune hopes that new challenges will motivate the CEO to stay.

Energy group Ørsted's business has never performed better, but several key figures from the management team have turned their backs on the firm within a short period. Meanwhile, the group's CEO is perhaps one of the most courted chief executives in his native Denmark.

Chairman Thomas Thune Andersen declines to "speculate" about how long he can hold on to Henrik Poulsen, but will try to motivate the CEO to stay by providing increasingly challenging tasks at Ørsted, which went by the name of Dong Energy until last year.
