Ørsted outdoes itself again

After a productive year in wind power, a name change and the sale of both offshore wind farms and the oil division, 2017 has exceeded last year's result.

Danish utility Ørsted emerged from 2017 with an EBITDA of DKK 22.5 billion (EUR 3 billion), an improvement over last year's DKK 19 billion result. The operating profit is the largest ever, however, it is in line with expectations after the company increased its forecast in January for key figures to reach precisely DKK 22.5 billion.

The operating result comes from a DKK 59 billion top line, while on the bottom line earnings were DKK 13.3 billion according to the IFRS standard, and DKK 20.1 billion according to Ørsted's own reporting standard, Business Performance (BP).
