The UK establishes independent energy company

The development finance institution of the UK has launched an energy company to develop hundreds of MW in South Asia.

The UK's development finance institution, CDC, has launched the independent utility Ayana Renewable Power.

According to a press release, the company will develop hundreds of MW in India and neighboring countries in South Asia, which will include Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar and Sri Lanka. The new company is solely funded by CDC, and an independent board and executive management team have been appointed.
