Ørsted calls off subsidy-free bid on Dutch tender

While several of its competitors are submitting bids to the world's first subsidy-free tender in the Netherlands, Ørsted has decided not to participate.

Ørsted, previously Dong Energy, says the conditions on the recently-closed Dutch tender were not good enough to create value for the company and shareholders.

"We would only bid if we could create value and we have concluded that this would be difficult, and of course, first and foremost, because the first part of the tender was without subsidies," says president for The Netherlands at Vestas, Jasper Vis.
