Vestas and KK Wind team up on Danish energy storage

A new project in Denmark aims to reduce production fluctuations by 90 percent by storing electricity within wind turbines themselves.

A new Danish project intends to overcome the greatest challenge in wind power.

Vestas, KK Wind Solutions, PowerCon, and Aalborg University in Denmark have joined forces on a three-year project named Multi Storage Converter for Wind Energy, which will secure far more stable energy from wind turbines. This will be achieved by integrating a cost efficient battery solution for the storage of energy in individual turbines.
