After tough times in recent weeks, Siemens Gamesa finally has good news to report. The wind turbine manufacturer has received an order for 67 SWT-DD-130 turbines of 4.2 MW capacity each to the Nordlicht project in Norway, announces the company.
The project consists of two wind farms in northern Norway, Kvitfjell and Raudfjell, with 47 and 20 turbines respectively. According to Siemens Gamesa, the total 281.4 MW capacity makes the project the largest "onshore wind project in Europe this year." Elsewhere in Norway, the installation of the 1,001 MW Fosen project is about to be installed, but this order was included in last year's orders.
