Swedish firms join forces on new foundation production facility

A new facility in Landskrona, Sweden, will produce foundations for the growing offshore wind market.

Swedish industry players Himec Solutions and Varvsudden Heavy Industry Park of Öresund are teaming up to establish a joint facility to manufacture foundations for offshore wind turbines, reveals the latter in a press release.

Varvsudden took initiative to construct the facility while Himec Solutions will serve as technical advisor on the project. The plan is that the new facility will lie close to the western-Swedish city of Malmo and will primarily produce jacket foundations, large monopiles, and corresponding transitions pieces.
