Siemens Gamesa wins wind and solar hybrid order

The wind turbine manufacturer is entering new territory with an order to develop a new solar plant which will be connected to a wind turbine farm. "Milestone," says the CEO.

Siemens Gamesa has been given the task of developing India's first hybrid farm. The wind turbine manufacturer will install and connect a solar farm boasting 28.8 MW to an existing 50 MW wind farm, reports the company in a press release.

"This is a very important milestone for our company. We are truly proud to be rolling out this new hybrid solution - namely the optimal combination of solar and wind power technology - on a commercial scale", said Ramesh Kymal, CEO of Siemens Gamesa's Onshore business in India.
