Siemens Gamesa wins major order in China

The wind turbine manufacturer is close to rounding off 5 GW in China with a new order for 150 turbines for a project slated for completion next year.

Siemens Gamesa has secured its largest Chinese order since the merger. According to a press release, the wind turbine manufacturer will deliver 150 of its G114-2.0 MW turbines to the Xilinhot project in Inner Mongolia. The manufacturer has also signed a long-term service agreement besides the 300 MW order.

"With this significant order, the company has achieved a new milestone in its strategy in China where it has already installed over 4.6 GW," says Álvaro Bilbao, CEO of Siemens Gamesa in Asia Pacific.
