2017 will mark a landmark year for Vestas on the German market. On one hand, the manufacturer expects to install 1.5 GW capacity, one third more than last year's record. On the other hand, this growth may hit a standstill if the German authorities do not intervene and stop a market decline, says Vestas to Recharge.
"We will install 1.5GW this year in Germany – that is a record installation. This is still part of the effect of old building permits [granted] in 2016, that are implemented in 2017 and 2018," said Kund Rissel, vice president sales at Vestas Central Europe, to Recharge at the Husum Wind 2017 fair.
