Vestas lands largest order this decade on ailing market

In the midst of a sudden standstill on the Indian market, the Danish wind turbine manufacturer is starting to make money on its Indian venture and has locked in its best year since before the financial recession.

Vestas has received a turnkey order for 100 MW for a wind project in India.

The turbine manufacturer will supply and install 50 turbines from the V110-2.0 MW series to an unnamed customer, while a 10-year service contract of the AOM4000 type has also been signed, announced Vestas in a statement. Delivery of the turbines is expected to begin at the end of this year with operationalization in the first half of 2018.
