Germany will build rival to Tesla's giant battery factory

Several German companies have teamed up in a consortium to build one of the world's largest battery factories to rival Tesla's Gigafactory.

In Germany, several chief executives are planning to announce the location for an enormous lithium-ion battery factory, reports Bloomberg. It is intended to be on par with Tesla's battery facility "Gigafactory" currently being constructed in the US casino city of Reno.

Altogether, 17 German companies – which do not wish to be named – have joined forces under the name Terra E Holding GmbH.
