Vestas' former CEO passes away

One of the key figures behind Vestas' journey from bankruptcy to the world's leading wind turbine manufacturer – and somewhat back again – has passed away.

Vestas' former group CEO, Svend Sigaard, has passed away. He was 59 years old.

Sigaard was appointed CFO of Vestas in 1987 following a restructuring after the company's bankruptcy. In this role, the young executive with a background in accountancy collaborated with CEO Johannes Poulsen to transform the company into the world's largest wind turbine manfufacturer.
