There once was a time when offshore wind was considered far too expensive.
This is no longer the case and recent events are the proof. In 2015 the Horns Rev 3 farm was awarded at DKK 0.77/kWh, then Borssele 1+2 at DKK 0.54/kWh, followed by Borssele 3+4 for DKK 0.405/kWh, and then Kriegers Flak at DKK 0.372/kWh. The trend culminated with the German tender this spring, when Dong Energy and EnBW both put in bids of no more than the market price for electricity.
