German wind turbine manufacturer Senvion has hired a new executive to lead the North American market. After 11 years at the German wind manufacturer, the last four of which were spent in the CEO seat at Senvion North America, Helmut Herold is stepping down from the company and will be replaced by Lance Marram, says Recharge.
The reshuffle occurs at the same time that Senvion has attempted to gain a stronger foothold on the US market. While the Germans, with a market share of 10 percent, have had a good grasp on the Canadian market in recent years, things have not been as smooth south of the border. The Germans have only sold marginally more turbines in the US, despite the fact that the US market is approximately eight times larger than the Canadian.
