German major player wants to seize more wind service

Energy company E.on is expanding its investments on the market for servicing wind turbines by entering another two European markets.

E.on is expanding its business within the service of wind turbines. The German energy company will henceforth include the UK and Italy in its work operating and maintaining wind farms, which was launched in 2015 with its entry into the US and Swedish markets. Recently, E.on established itself in January on its home market of Germany as well.

"We are able to draw on our experience in operating our own wind farms and apply it to the services we provide in Italy and the UK. We anticipate an increase in demand for maintaining and overseeing sites, since the warranty periods for many of these installations is set to expire," says Anja Isabel-Dotzenrath, Chair of the executive board at E.on Climate & Renewables, in a press release.
