LM installs 66.5 meter blade in Asia

Danish blade manufacturer LM Wind Power designed a new blade for Japan's Hitachi in order to give large turbines a further boost.

The already powerful 5.2 MW turbines from Hitachi will be boosted to generate even more energy by utilizing a new blade design.

LM Wind Power has designed a new blade for the Japanese turbines. The blade is 66.5 meters long and will be used on offshore installations.

GE implements 3D printing for making component molds

Developing the world's largest 3D printer will enable the OEM to make molds for nacelle components of up to 9.5 meters in diameter and weighing more than 60 tonnes by means of additive manufacturing. Initial testing is set to begin in early 2022.
