Strong start to the year for Vestas

Vestas received orders of two gigawatts in the first three months of the year, while both revenue and earnings were a little bit better than expected. We have a lot of work ahead of us, says the CEO.

Vestas has exceeded expectations once again. In the first three months of the year, the wind turbine manufacturer booked revenue of EUR 1,885 million with a EUR 214 million result before tax and EUR 160 million after tax. All three are higher than what analysts had predicted, and significantly above what was delivered in the same period last year.

In terms of MW, Vestas also delivered better than expected. Orders totaled 2,049 MW, meaning that the manufacturer had stored 696 MW of unannounced orders up its sleeve. According to news bureau Ritzau, analysts had expected an order intake of 1,953 MW.
