Both Denmark's energy ministry and the wind turbine industry can celebrate the plan from three energy companies to erect an enormous artificial island in the North Sea, which will form the base for a major expansion of offshore wind turbines.
The companies Energinet.dk and TenneT, who are behind the vision, believe that the island and the surround wind turbines will power up to 80 million Europeans.
