In a deal worth millions of US dollars, Canadian Brookfield Renewable Partners is able to expand its portfolio with approximately 4GW of wind and solar, writes Recharge.
The company has bought 51 percent of Terraform Power and 100 percent of Terraform Global. Both companies are yieldcos, which bundles renewable – or conventional assets – in order to generate predictable cash flows, functioning similarly to bonds which run as long as the assets continue to make money.
