Iberdrola grows in spite of horrible wind year in the UK

The energy company has presented a nice annual result, boosted by a huge acquisition in 2015 for the first time. However, the Spanish company's wind turbines in the UK had an unusually tough year and declined by almost 50 percent.

Spanish energy major Iberdrola ended the energy year 2016 with a leap on the bottom line of no less than 11.7 percent.

The result of EUR 2.7 billion was influenced by improved earnings from the US activities which for the first time in 2016 included the EUR 3 billion acquisition of energy company UIL.
