Siemens Wind lays off 430 people at blade factory

The stage is set for large-scale redundancies while the company also plans to shut down a factory near Danish city Silkeborg. This is all just one month after layoffs in another Danish location in January.

Siemens Wind Power will shut down a factory in Engesvang, Denmark near the city of Silkeborg and lay off 430 employees, announces the Danish-German company Wednesday.

"Unfortunately we have had to announce to employees that we are closing the factory and letting 430 employees go. We are naturally unhappy about this," Michael Hannibal, CEO of Offshore Wind at Siemens Wind Power, tells Ritzau Finans.
