Siemens nominates next chairman

New nominee is just a formality away from reaching the very top of Siemens where he will spearhead the digitalization of the German conglomerate.

Siemens has nominated Jim Hagemann Snabe to be the chairman of the supervisory board. At a meeting Tuesday, the board unanimously recommended the 52-year-old Dane to take the top job at the German conglomerate. The final decision will be made at Siemens' annual shareholder meeting next year on Jan. 31, writes Siemens in a press release.

Hagemann Snabe has served on the board at Siemens since 2013. Besides other board positions for Maersk Group, Allianz, Bang & Olufsen, and German software giant SAP, he also has a professional background at SAP, where he worked from 1990-2014.
