LM Wind Power is expanding is production plant in the city of Gaspé in Canada. With an investment of more than USD 12 million (EUR 11.28 million), the Danish blade manufacturer is seeking to increase its presence in both Canada and the US, according to a press release from LM.
The company expects the factory expansion will lead to an additional 265 new jobs in the already rapidly growing staff. The creation of the local jobs also has a positive side-effect for the blade manufacturer, as the local government in the Canadian state of Quebec will support by paying almost half of the total investment – USD 5.7 million – of which USD 4.3 million is a loan from Canada's finance ministry and the remaining USD 1.4 million is a grant from Emploi Québec to train new employees.
