Vestas furthers its lead in major market

Last year, Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas installed more than every third turbine on Europe's fourth-largest market.

France expanded its wind capacity by 1.56 GW last year. Of this, 560 MW were Vestas turbines, which gave the Danish wind manufacturer a market share of 35.9 percent in one of the world's largest wind turbine markets, writes France's industry organization for wind power FEE.

With last year's installation of 686 turbines, which constitutes the largest expansion in the country's history, France's wind power reached 12 GW. This highlights the country's status as the fourth-largest market in Europe, and France is rapidly approaching third place, currently held by the UK.
