Denmark establishes new testing areas for wind

Denmark's government grants five new testing areas for wind turbines to the test centers in Østerild and Høvsøre. This means there will be room for 17 turbines.

An impressive, perhaps even overwhelming, view will greet visitors at the testing centre by Østerild in the Danish region of Thy. The center now has clearance to multiply the number of turbine spots by three. Østerild may currently have up to three turbines and, going forward, it will be allowed to have ten. Furthermore, the turbines to be erected in the coming spots are not small. The new turbines may be up to 330 meters tall, whereas they must currently be less than 250 meters in height.

Another Danish testing center, the one near the town Høvsøre, will also be expanded. This center will go from five turbines to seven, however, only with heights of 200 meters. The turbines in Høvsøre may currently only be 165 meters tall.
