Siemens Wind Power's latest round of layoffs is hot off the press, and the turbine manufacturer is quick to explain away the firings in Denmark by stressing that efficiency has been significantly increased at the Danish factory in the city of Aalborg. This is thus why 150 employees in Aalborg can expect a pink slip, says the company's press officer to EnergyWatch.
Rasmus Windfield writes in an e-mail that the reduction of 150 workers is a result of improved production which will ultimately lead to cheaper turbines.
