Bank sale could unleash UK wind farm sale

The privatization of the UK's Green Investment Bank could lead to the divestment of several British offshore wind farms, including those owned by Dong and E.on.

Companies such as Dong, E.on, and Siemens Financial Services could be facing the prospect of new co-owners across a number of UK wind farms. British media reports that the planned privatization of Green Investment Bank, a state-owned investment bank with a renewables focus, could unleash a huge sale of ownership stakes across a number of the UK's largest wind farms.

Australia's Macquarie Bank is pegged as the favorite to end up as the buyer of GIB, amid rumors that it will sell off GIB's most valuable assets after a possible takeover as early as February.
