Vattenfall buys German offshore wind project

The Swedish energy company is bracing itself for its first German offshore wind tender with the acquisition of a development project from a German Dong Energy customer. The projects are being rolled out in several locations, says the CEO.

Vattenfall has bought the development project Atlantis I from German developer PNE Wind. The Swedish Energy company is paying a "smaller double-digit million-euro amount," for the project, which is currently dimensioned at a capacity of up to 584 MW.

This is according to PNE Wind, who continues as a service supplier on Atlantis I, which has been under development since 2008 and in 2013 was approved by the German authorities (BSH).
