Vestas has landed a contract for 200 MW to be installed in the US. Canadian utility Alterra Power has announced the purchase of 100 turbines form the Danish manufacturer for the Flat Top project in central Texas.
Apart from the turbines, Vestas was also given a 10-year service contract on the farm which is expected to begin operations next year. This marks the second time in one month that Alterra orders service from Denmark, as the energy company extended a service agreement in December for the Canadian Dokie park. The actual construction of Flat Top will be handled by the company Blattner Energy.
