Swedish project developer Eulos Vind AB handed out an order to Vestas for 40 MW on the final day of 2016. The order is for components on a wind farm in the US, writes the company in a press release.
As such, the Danish turbine manufacturer was securing orders for 2016 up until the eleventh hour. The holiday period saw major activity for Vestas, as the turn of the year was the final deadline for placing orders if they are to be included in the US PTC tax scheme. The requirement was for a minor portion of the funding on projects, which are set to be complete by 2020, to be settled by the new year in order to reap advantageous tax benefits.
