Germany's Nordex has received an order for nine wind turbines with total capacity of 11.5 MW for the project Aunis in France's coastal region Poitou-Charente. This order is not remarkable in itself, as the German turbine producer has supplied more than 1.5 GW of turbines to the French market over the years. However, the latest order is for the model AW82/1500.
This means that the turbines to be supplied are from Acciona, marking the first time since the German company took over the Spanish wind turbine manufacturer one year ago, that Acciona turbines have been ordered. As an independent manufacturer, Acciona did not exactly have a strong hold on the French market, where turbines totaling just 39 MW have been sold.
